David Ribeiro is the Data Science Lead.
David is a Physics student at the University of Toronto, passionate about leveraging data to solve environmental challenges. Outside his studies, David has participated in the Robotics for Space Exploration (RSX) hackathon, where he developed a prototype rover for the Space Exploration & Engineering Kompetition (SEEK), designed for Mars exploration. At RainGrid, he will serve as a Data Science Lead focused on applying climate data to visualise and value the impact of RainGrid’s rain retention and reuse technology.
Previously, he succeeded in pitching climate solutions on behalf of RainGrid, which underscored the importance of circular rain systems and monetizing ecosystem outcomes. David’s interest lies particularly in tackling urban stormwater management issues. Living in a city where water runoff contributes to flooding and pollution, he has seen firsthand the effects of inadequate infrastructure and climate change.
